Prozessfähigkeit

Ein Prozess heißt fähig, wenn er seine spezifizierte Produktqualität, Servicequalität und Performance-Ziele einhält. Ein fähiger Prozesse erzeugt durchgängig Ergebnisse, die innerhalb deren Spezifikation liegen. Die Durcführung fähiger Prozesse liefert jederzeit vorhersagbare Ergebnisse.
Prozessfähigkeit und kontinuierliche Prozessmodelle

Der Prozessfähigkeitsgrad bezieht sich auf die Durchführung der Prozesse innerhalb eines Prozessgebiets, z.B. sämtliche Prozesse des Bereiches Projektmanagement (Kick-Off, Monitoring, Reporting, etc.).
Die Prozessfähigkeit wird in einem kontinuierlichen Prozessreifegradmodell dargestellt (Level 2 für die Kick-Off-Prozesse, Level 1 für die Monitoring-Prozesse, Level 1 für die Reporting-Prozessses, etc.).
Das Ergebnis der Bewertung des Prozessfähigkeitsgrads ist ein so genanntes Prozessfähigkeitsprofil — meistens bezogen auf ein spezielles IT-Projekt oder auf eine ganze Fachabteilung.
