CMMI Model Foundation

Die CMMI Model Foundation (CMF) bildet die Basis einer sogn. CMMI Constellation, d.h. einer seziellen Adaption des CMMI-Modells für ein bestimmtes Themengebiet. Derzeit gibt es drei Constellations: CMMI for Development (CMMI-DE)V, CMMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) und CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC).
Die CMMI Model Foundation ist sozusagen der gemeinsame Kern aller Constellations. Er besteht aus 16 gemeinsamen Prozessgebieten sowie allen generischen Zielen und Praktiken.
Auf diese Weise kann das CMMI-Modell andere Themengebiete (sog. bodies of knowledge) wiedergeben: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development, ITIL, CobIT, etc.
Außerdem erlaubt die CMMI Model Foundation für unterschiedliche CMMI-Modelle die zugehörigen Schulungs- und Appraisalmaterialien zu erzeugen.
