CMMI Model Foundation

The CMMI Model Foundation (CMF) is the common fundament of each so called CMMI constellation. A CMMI constellation is a adaption of the CMMI model to a ceratin field of interest. At present there are three constellations: CMMI for Development (CMMI-DE)V, CMMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) and CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC).
The CMMI model foundation is a kind of nulecus common to all constellations. Er consists of 16 common process areas and all generic goals and practices.
Thus, the CMMI model represents different field bodies of knowledge: systems engineering, software engineering, integrated product and process development, ITIL, CobIT, etc.
In addition the CMMI model foundation supports creating materials for training and appraisal for the different kinds of CMMI models.
